The World around us

World Jungle has successfully raised over £400,000, managing funded projects working with all sectors of the community including young and old, ethnic minorities, vulnerable and isolated, special needs and young families. Projects have included promoting awareness of other cultures and intercultural dialogue, adult education and community learning, community development, raising awareness of environmental issues, promoting health and wellbeing, protecting/developing public spaces and supporting those most vulnerable.
We have delivered projects on behalf of the public sector and third sector, including for social housing providers, major charities and regional and national support organisations. World Jungle has delivered major Lottery and grant-funded programmes including the BIG Lottery, European Social Fund, capital and revenue grants and programmes. We also work in partnership with other local community groups and organisations

World Jungle working in partnership with Barnwood Trust to offer community building in Cam and Dursley, Gloucestershire, using the principles of Asset Based Community Development.“It can be amazing where a simple conversation can lead…”  This was the basic idea behind a programme for Cam and Dursley in Gloucestershire which helped to kick-start some exciting, new community projects by asking people what they cared enough about in their area to do something about. Through having lots of conversations with local people, we were able to identify the gifts, strengths and passions of individuals,  find out what they want to make happen in the area and help people come together and achieve their aim.  Successful projects included a local DJ night, etc...
