Ripton Lindsay, originally hailing from Jamaica, is known for his unique approach and teaching in the field of dance. Having learned and nurtured his dance skills in Jamaica, where he also had his dance troupe of nine years "Nkiru Cultural Dance Troupe", he decided to take his talents further afield, hence his reason for being in the UK.

Here he has taught in many schools, youth centres and has done workshops in various venues in the UK. Ripton is a specialist in the field of African, Contempory, Hip Hop, Reggae, Creative Movements, Merengue, Jazz and one of the few choreographer /teachers who is able to perform and teach traditional Caribbean Dances.

Throughout his years of teaching and dancing, Ripton has worked with some of the top names and companies in the music business. He has appeared in and choreographed pieces for the likes of MTV 2, BET, "The Dave Matthews Band", The Fugees and he also worked with the German film production company Polyphon.

Ripton is also a talented Poet, DJ and MC and has been opening acts for both local and international artistes.

Known in the field of MC-ing and hosting events as Souls Liberation, Ripton has worked with many artistes in the music industry such as Africa Bambaata (Zulu Nation) on one of his UK tours, opening act for DJ Babu of Dilated Peoples, tours with Optimas Prime and has performed at quite a number of poetry events across the UK.

Ripton (Souls Liberation) works with and is the exclusive show MC for DJ/Producers Mr Benn and Massive Attack, Daddy G. He is also part of the Bristol Hi-Fi family which consists of himself, Daddy G, Queen Bee and Mr Benn.

Ripton has also done workshops for the WOMAD organisation and performed at the 2008 Glastonbury Festival with the Bristol Hi-Fi Family at the dance arena.

Also, being a vocalist in the Bristol-based band CCQ, Ripton (Souls Liberation) co-hosts a talk show on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (11.00am-1.00pm) with Hilary Banks on UJIMA 98FM and is a specialist DJ on UJIMA 98FM where he has his own show every Friday (8.00pm-10.00pm). His style is strictly retro classics every first and third Friday of the month and the weeks between and after the music gets diverse.

His style of music covers a broad spectrum and is all positive and uplifting for the soul as he would put it. Being a down to earth individual and giving thanks and respect for the talents he holds, Ripton believes the universe is the limit and therefore he is unlimited to what he does with his skills.
