Annet Richards-Binns

Annet Richards-Binns specialises in Afrikan-Caribbean Dance and is well known throughout Gloucestershire and the South-West for her lively and dynamic approach. Born in Kingston , Jamaica , Annet started to dance early, soaking up the rich music and rhythm she grew up with in Jamaica and discovered a natural talent which inspired her to take every opportunity to dance!

After moving to London in 1992, Annet continued to pursue her passion for the performing arts and in particular dance, participating in workshops and training to extend her knowledge and experience of a broad range of dance styles and forms.

Annet is now an experienced teacher of Afrikan and Caribbean Dance working with children, young people and adults in schools and community centres throughout Gloucestershire. Her work include initiatives for adults with special needs and disabilities.

In Summer 1997 Annet founded "Cool Runnings Youth Dance Project" in Gloucester , which has experienced much success in giving children opportunities to train in and perform dance. The project focuses on 'a journey through the history of black dance' and explores different forms and styles of Afrikan and Caribbean dance.

With her enthusiasm and talent Annet offers to share with us the dynamic energy of her dance!
